Robert Marcus, the owner of Bob’s Gun Shop in downtown Norfolk, said he's seen gun sales jump many times during the three decades he's owned the store, but never like this.
“It's incredible,” Marcus told The Virginian-Pilot. “There are are a lot of extraneous things going on now that have caused guns to become very desirable.”
According to the Times, sales first started to increase due to the Democrats winning a majority in the General Assembly, then the Wuhan Virus hit in March and now you have the civil unrest. It is all a recipe for a surge in gun sales and new gun owners.

So do you think the General Assembly and the Governor will take note of this? Or are the going to keep on their current course? If the maintain there current path I believe it will lead to resounding defeat during the next election cycle. One I hope they can never recover from. They seem to be totally tone deaf.
Don't think the Governor and most of the Democrats care. Northam has already said he plans to introduce more gun ban legislation, that this year was just a start. What remains to be seen is whether all of these new gun owners will care about their rights. Have heard that in places like California that first time gun owners expressing they did not understand why they could not walk out of the store with the gun they just purchased (there is a ten day wait in CA). One dealer was on Tom Gresham's Gun Talk program last Sunday and said his response was "Did you support the gun control passed by the legislature?" and when they responded yes the dealer replied "that's why you can't walk out of here with your gun!"
