Florida Governor Rejects Tampa Mayor's Request to Ban Concealed Carry Near GOP Convention

USA Today reports that Florida Governor Rick Scott has rejected a request from the mayor of Tampa to ban concealed carry near the site of the Republican National Convention in August.

"It is unclear how disarming law-abiding citizens would better protect them from the dangers and threats posed by those who would flout the law. It is at just such times that the constitutional right to self-defense is most precious and must be protected from government overreach," Scott said in his letter.

Kudos to Governor Scott. He knows GOP convention attendees have nothing to fear from law abiding gun owners.
