Holder Announces Foiled Terror Plot, Issa Subpoenas Holder for Fast and Furious

A day after Attorney General Eric Holder announced Justice and the FBI had foiled a bomb plot they said was hatched in Iran and targeted Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the U.S., House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) has subpoenaed Attorney General Eric Holder and the Department of Justice for documents related to the fatal ATF scheme known as "Fast and Furious."

The Hill reports that Issa said in issueing the subpoenas:
"Top Justice Department officials, including Attorney General Holder, know more about Operation Fast and Furious than they have publicly acknowledged," Issa said in a statement announcing the subpoenas. "The documents this subpoena demands will provide answers to questions that Justice officials have tried to avoid since this investigation began eight months ago. It's time we know the whole truth."

Holder, whose explanations of what he did not know about the tragic scheme has been a faster moving target than an elimination challenge on Top Shot has been under increased scrutiny in the last week since emails became public indicating that he had been briefed on the program much earlier than he claimed before the House Oversight Committee.  While he continues to claim ignorance of the details, and Obama has giving him a complete vote of confidence, report after report has brought a new revelation.
