Google App Raises Concerns of Gun Owners

After learning of this issue from VSSA sister organization Kansas State Rifle Association (KSRA), I immediately went to the Google Play Store to check out the app in question. Google Play is where Android device (phones and tablets) users get games and other apps. It did not take long to see gun owners had inundated the review with negative comments and urging Google to remove the app.

It appears that it was created in response to a similar app that gun owners can use to note firearm friendly businesses, as the app in question uses the same mapping scheme.  The difference of course is this app is being used by anti-gun users to also tag residence locations. As John Lott told Fox News, this gives criminals the information they need to steal firearms.

If you have an Android device, please log-in to the Google Play Store and register your disapproval of the app.
