Police Seek Suspect in 3 VCU-area Armed Robberies

Crime again hit the VCU campus area last night with three armed robberies. Police believe one individual is responsible for all three.
Richmond and VCU police were searching today for the suspect, described as a black man in his 20s who was brandishing a small, silver, semiautomatic handgun and wearing a blue flat-billed hat, a gray hoodie style sweatshirt, blue jeans and white sneakers. Police said he may have been accompanied by a second suspect driving a white Chevrolet Impala.
Crime has spiked around the VCU campus since students returned in August.  Students and staff are barred from carrying firearms for self-defense on VCU property.
